There is no 3M on the Air Jordan XIII’s french blue mesh. You hear that? There’s no 3M. That frustrated me. But Jordan Brand did a good job of maintaining the reflective feel, if that makes sense. It depends on your viewing angle, mostly.

Obviously, it’s not a total deal breaker. When you think of the Jordan 13, you don’t think of the 3M reflective material, but of the paw-print soles and the holograms on the back of the shoes. Tinker Hatfield, the infamous Jordan designer, found his inspiration from a black panther, and it simply worked. Coincidentally, Michael Jordan was nicknamed the “Black Cat,” so Hatfield was on the right track.

More important than the design is the extreme comfort and cushion in this shoe. It’s like a pillow for your feet. The sneakers hug the ankles and feel as if you’re walking on clouds. Granted, I still haven’t walked on any clouds, but I do imagine these shoes are the closest we’ll get to simulating such an experience.
