Nike Air Max Posite Bakin Boot (Black) – “The Dark Knights”
I’ve been living in a post-blizzard New York City. The clean-up efforts have been effortless and the texture of once-soft snow has become rough, former flakes frozen into cubes of ice that crunch with each step. No miniature mountain of snow is built the same, but they’re all difficult and complex to navigate in their own right. If you’re me, you want to walk through and over that sucker. This Air Max Posite Bakin Boot is designed to cater to such mentalities.
The Foamposite hardware is already well known to sneakerheads. The hard foam molds to your feet and the exterior is practically scuff proof. Nike’s ACG (All Conditions Gear) is already well known to consumers. Although this isn’t Nike’s first forced marriage between Foamposite technology and the ACG line, it’s easily it’s best.
Taking its design cues from the Air Bakin basketball shoe Kevin Garnett once wore, the Posite Bakin Boots, affectionately nicknamed “The Dark Knights” because they look like something Batman would wear, are simply better looking than the old Nike Foamposite Boot. The previous design wasn’t exactly a fusion, but more of an Air Foamposite One glued onto the thick rubber bottoms found on Nike’s classic Air Max Goadome ACG boots.
Where these boots excel is where the leather Air Max Goadome struggled. The higher ankle goes a long way to ensure dryness when you have to stomp through deeper mounds of snow. And the foamposite exterior makes sure that your boot won’t scrape when those deep mounds of snow become, essentially, sandpaper. The foamposite is easier to clean, requiring only one or two wipes before they’re back looking like new.
The Dark Knights, however, do carry a hefty price tag, originally retailing for around $215. Prices have been dropping since they’ve released, though, with coupons and promotional codes helping some people nab these for around $150-$175.
